AS NEEDED — Complete *One Engine Inoperative Landing* until DEFERRED ITEMS or *Engine in Flight Start*
This section of the EAG helps the crew evaluate and plan the course of action to be taken for flight termination.
If applicable, complete the One Engine Inoperative Landing NNC until its Deferred Items or the Engine In-Flight Start NNC as needed. This action will allow the crew to calculate the required landing distance associated with the malfunction and help choose an adequate runway for the situation.
Evaluate the state of the aircraft with regard to the originating and associated malfunction. After the memory items and/or checklist are completed, review the Master Caution and ensure any outstanding items are actioned and understood. The Master Caution should then be cancelled allowing future messages to be easily detected.
Evaluate Adequate Airport options, Runway Surface Condition reports, weather and approach requirements and capabilities.
Evaluate range and possible cruise altitudes based on equipment and airspace requirements (RNP – RVSM). Verify Fuel Balance and/or cross-feed configuration as needed.
Verify the MEL for any pertinent information (possible release at destination). Check for any popped circuit breakers.
If needed, Dispatch and/or Maintenance may be contacted in order to make a proper decision. When the situation is not critical, the crew should decide with the Company where it is most suitable to land, especially if the aircraft will be grounded upon landing. In all cases, Dispatch should be advised of any abnormal situation and the final decision.
