Garuda GA618 — Makassar thunderstorm overrun — Histoire

Révision sortie de piste

Touchdown

Piste 13 WAAA (~2 500 m). Float 13 s (20 ft→TD) / ~16 s EGPWS « ten »→TD ; toucher après Charlie ≈ mi-piste (~1 375 m du seuil estimé).

Conditions piste

Orage +TSRA, visibilité ↓ (METAR 500–800 m). Fin 13 mouillée. Changement piste 03→13 pour CB à l’est. Outflow : arrière sur finale puis face sur piste.

Erreur / facteur clé

Pas de go-around malgré float évident / toucher long. Conscience situation vent insuffisante. Controllers peu formés windshear visuel. Distance restante < besoin.

Contexte

Vol CGK→UPG, PIC PF. Distance flaps 30 calculée ~2 100 m. ATIS initialement 03 ; bascule 13 pour CB.

Immatriculation PK-GFA confirmée ASN + rapport NTSC.

Déroulement

Approche 13 sous TSRA. ~100 ft : PM annonce tailwind ~10 + cross ~10. Manette idle ; float. Toucher mi-piste.

Freinage ; arrêt stopway gauche, NLG + MLG G embourbés, MLG D encore sur pavé. 0 blessé.

Facteurs / causes

NTSC contributing : unanticipated wind → float 13 s → TD mid-runway ; no go-around (terrain fear).

Météo CB mature / downdraft outflow. Formation ATC windshear limitée (rapport).

Conséquences

Serious incident. Embourbé stopway. 0 blessé. Avion récupéré.

Leçons 737

• Float prolongé / EGPWS ten sans toucher rapide → go-around immédiat, même « relief en face » : un overrun orageux est aussi un risque.

• Tailwind→headwind sudden sur piste = signature outflow ; anticiper float.

• LDA 2 500 m + orage : si performance juste, diversion ou hold.

• CRM : PM qui annonce vent doit challenge un float — « go around ».
