Apply sticker adjacent to affected Engine Start Switch.

Print the following information in the journey log sheet. (LEFT) (RIGHT) ENGINE START VALVE INOP

5. Respecter toutes les restrictions du MEL — ne pas en inventer.

(O) OPERATIONS PROCEDURES — texte MEL :

NOTE: Inflight Engine Start: For engines shut down more than one hour, a windmill start may not be 1. Perform normal start procedure with following additions: a) When positioning associated ENGINE START switch to GRD position, instruct ground crew to open start valve. b) Inform ground crew when N2 is rotating. c) Instruct ground crew to close the start valve when indication is 56% N2 RPM. d) Without automatic ignition: Verify that the ENGINE START switch moves to OFF. e) With automatic ignition: Verify that the ENGINE START switch moves to AUTO. NOTE: If an inflight engine start is necessary, a crossbleed start will not be available on the associated engine. Ensure that airspeed is sufficient for a windmill start.

(M) MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES — texte MEL (maintenance ; l’équipage vérifie que c’est fait) :

Observe engine ground safety precautions and use Start the Engine Procedure (Manual Override of the Starter Air Valve) (AMM 71-00-00).
