1. Confirmer l’item, la catégorie et le nombre requis dans le MEL officiel (lien PDF).
2. Appliquer les procédures (O) et/ou (M) du MEL avant dispatch — texte officiel ci-dessous.
3. Placard (texte MEL) :
Apply sticker on or adjacent to control and/or display – GPWS MODE (1-5 or TEST or WINDSHEAR).
4. Journey log / other instructions (texte MEL) :
Print the following information in the journey log sheet.
TAWS/GPWS (SYSTEM) (MODE) (TERRAIN SYSTEM/RAAS) INOP
5. Respecter toutes les restrictions du MEL — ne pas en inventer.
(O) OPERATIONS PROCEDURES — texte MEL :
The lack of GPWS/TAWS requires an increase in flight crew awareness of aircraft configuration,
altitude, and flight path. Consider using all airplane systems available (autopilot, ILS, FMS). Review
Minimum Enroute Altitudes and altitude callouts.
• For GPWS Modes 1-7, Advisory Callouts inoperative, and FLTA and PDA functions inoperative:
Flight crew must increase their awareness of aeroplane configuration, altitude and flight path.
This includes flight crew use of all aeroplane systems available (autopilot, auto-land, ILS, FMCS)
and flight crew review of Minimum En Route Altitudes (MEA) and altitude callouts.
• For GPWS Windshear Mode (Reactive) inoperative and Windshear Detection and Avoidance
System (Predictive) not operating normally:
Flight crew must increase their awareness of aeroplane configuration, altitude and flight path.
This includes flight crew use of all aeroplane systems available (autopilot, auto-land, ILS, FMCS)
and flight crew review of Minimum En Route Altitudes (MEA), Windshear Avoidance and
Windshear Recovery procedures. If Windshear Detection and Avoidance System (Predictive) does
not operate normally do not takeoff and land in known or forecast Windshear conditions.
• For GPWS Windshear Mode (Reactive) inoperative and Windshear Detection and Avoidance
System (Predictive) operating normally:
Flight crew must increase their awareness of aeroplane configuration, altitude and flight path.
This includes flight crew use of all aeroplane systems available (autopilot, auto-land, ILS, FMCS)
and flight crew review of Minimum En Route Altitudes (MEA), Windshear Avoidance and
Windshear Recovery procedures.
• For Terrain System Forward Looking Terrain Avoidance and Premature Descent Alert:
Flight crew must ensure EGPWS is functional.
GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING FUNCTIONS REFERENCE
(DO-161A AND TSO-92C)
Mode 1 Excessive rate of descent.
Mode 2 Excessive closure rate to terrain.
Mode 3 Negative climb rate or altitude loss after takeoff.
Mode 4 Flight into terrain when not in landing configuration.
Mode 5 Excessive downward deviation from an Instrument Landing System (ILS)
glideslope.
Mode 6 Altitude Aural Callouts.
(M) MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES — texte MEL (maintenance ; l’équipage vérifie que c’est fait) :
None required.
MAINTENANCE NOTE:
Advise Dispatch, flight planning may be affected.
