May be inoperative provided: a) Operations do not require its use, and b) Prior to flight, approval is obtained from ATC facilities having jurisdiction over planned route of flight. NOTE: RVSM operations prohibited.

Any in excess of those required by CAR 605.35 may be inoperative. NOTE 1: Transponder and Flight Director / Autopilot must use same ADC data for RVSM operations. NOTE 2: As per CARs 605.35, aircraft must be equipped with a transponder and automatic pressure-altitude reporting equipment for all flights in Class A, B and C airspace as well as any Class D or E airspace specified as transponder airspace in the Designated Airspace Handbook.

Apply sticker to face of affected transponder control panel(s) and, if applicable, placard Captain's forward instrument panel: RVSM OPS PROHIBITED.

4. Journey log / other instructions (texte MEL) :

Print the following information in the journey log sheet. (#1) OR (#2) OR (BOTH) ATC TRANSPONDER/ALTITUDE REPORTING SYSTEM(S) INOP - CHECK RVSM STATUS or ADS-B OUT EXTENDED SQUITTER INOP

5. Respecter toutes les restrictions du MEL — ne pas en inventer.

(O) OPERATIONS PROCEDURES — texte MEL :

1. Authorization is obtained from ATC facilities having jurisdiction over planned route of flight using an aroved authorization process. 2. If needed and if two ADS-B are installed and one is inoperative, select transponder to operative side with ADS-B Out function.

(M) MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES — texte MEL (maintenance ; l’équipage vérifie que c’est fait) :

None required. MAINTENANCE NOTE: Advise Dispatch of operations procedures, limitations and RVSM compliance/non-compliance.
