(O) OPERATIONS PROCEDURES — texte MEL :
34-15-01 Weather Radar with Windshear Detection and Avoidance System (Predictive) Installed:
CAR 705.70 No person shall operate an aircraft with passengers on board in IMC when current
weather reports or forecasts indicate that thunderstorms may reasonably be expected along the
route to be flown, unless the aircraft is equipped with weather radar equipment.
Flight crew shall include the unserviceable equipment as a threat as part of their take off and
approach briefings to increase awareness of airplane configuration, altitude and flight path. Threat
mitigation measures to be discussed shall include the use of all airplane systems available (autopilot,
ILS, FMCS) and flight crew review of Minimum Enroute Altitudes (MEA’s) and altitude call outs.
34-15-03 Windshear Detection and Avoidance System (Predictive):
1. Check enroute, destination and alternate weather for indications of any hazardous weather
conditions that may be detected by weather radar.
Review windshear avoidance and windshear recovery procedures.
(M) MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES — texte MEL (maintenance ; l’équipage vérifie que c’est fait) :
To verify Manual Tilt Feature operates normally;
Ensure aircraft is positioned so as not to endanger ground personnel.
Turn On weather radar.
Verify Manual Tilt operates normally by observing antenna angle on Navigation Display (ND)
Set Tilt at Zero degrees.
Turn off weather radar.
MAINTENANCE NOTE:
Advise Dispatch of limitations. Flight Planning may be affected.
