3. Placard (texte MEL) :
Apply placard adjacent to auto brake switch - ANTISKID INOP - DO NOT USE AUTO BRAKE
4. Journey log / other instructions (texte MEL) :
Print the following information in the journey log sheet.
ANTISKID SYSTEM (INB/OUTB CHANNEL) INOP - DO NOT USE AUTOBRAKE
5. Respecter toutes les restrictions du MEL — ne pas en inventer.
(O) OPERATIONS PROCEDURES — texte MEL :
32-02-02A No Passengers and 32-02-02B One Channel Inoperative
1. Reduced thrust takeoff using the assumed temperature method is not permitted.
2. Takeoff on wet runways is not permitted unless AFM performance for wet skid-resistant surfaces
and antiskid inoperative is applicable and used.
3. Turn Autobrake System OFF.
4. Payload may be affected due to takeoff and landing runway length requirements.
5. Adjust takeoff and landing gross weight limits as required for antiskid inoperative.
6. Extend speed brakes manually since automatic extension system may not be operative with
antiskid inoperative.
7. Use antiskid inoperative braking procedure (AFM Section 4) including the actions in step 8.
8. Landing Procedure Review.
a) Use minimum braking consistent with runway length and conditions to reduce the possibility
of a tire blowout.
b) Do NOT apply the brakes until the nose wheel is on the ground and the speedbrakes have
been manually deployed.
c) Brake initially using light steady pedal pressure. Increase pressure as ground speed
decreases. Do NOT pump the brakes.
NOTE 1: Landing distance will be affected with the Anti-Skid inoperative. Dispatch shall ensure
consideration is given to the increase landing distance (AFM) due to delayed reaction in
the application of Manual Braking.
NOTE 2: Takeoff on contaminated runways is not permitted.
NOTE 3: Reference QRH Performance Inflight (appropriate section 10, 20, 30 or 40) NON-NORMAL
CONFIGURATION LANDING DISTANCE/ANTI-SKID INOPERATIVE for required landing
distance.
9. Prior to landing, set the GROUND PROXIMITY RUNWAY INHIBIT switch to RUNWAY INHIBIT (if
the Overrun Warning System and GROUND PROXIMITY RUNWAY INHIBIT switch are installed).
(M) MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES — texte MEL (maintenance ; l’équipage vérifie que c’est fait) :
32-02-02A No Passengers
Deactivate the inoperative Antiskid System channels (AMM 32-00-00/-901).
Identify faulty channels by performing a maintenance BITE check as follows:
NOTE: If only one of the two antiskid channels is inoperative, the other channel may be left on to
provide antiskid protection for the INBD or OUTBD wheels.
1. Gain access to the antiskid/autobrake control unit in the electronics bay E1-3.
2. Note all faults by pressing the PRESS/TEST - BIT switch to the BIT position until “TEST END”.
3. Clear all faults by pushing RESET.
4. Note existing faults by pressing the PRESS/TEST - BIT switch to the BIT position until “TEST
END”.
5. Open and collar the P6-3 panel ANTISKID circuit breaker associated with existing faults.
Alternatively, the Antiskid system may be fully deactivated without performing the maintenance BITE
check.
1. Open and collar the P6-3 panel INBOARD ANTISKID and OUTBOARD circuit breakers.
32-02-02B One Channel Inoperative
Deactivate the inoperative Antiskid System channels (AMM 32-00-00/-901). Identify faulty channels
by performing a maintenance BITE check as follows:
NOTE: If only one of the two antiskid channels is inoperative, the other channel may be left
operative to provide antiskid protection for the INBD or OUTBD wheels.
