(M#)(O) For each lavatory, the lavatory smoke detection system may be inoperative provided: a) Lavatory waste receptacle is empty, b) Associated lavatory door is locked closed and placarded “INOPERATIVE - DO NOT ENTER”, c) Lavatory is used only by crew members, and d) In-flight service waste bags are not stored in the lavatory. NOTE: These provisos are not intended to prohibit lavatory use or inspections by crew members.
26-16-01B — Non-Passenger Operations

(O) For each lavatory, the lavatory smoke detection system may be inoperative for non- passenger carrying operations provided: a) Crew members are the only occupants of the aircraft, b) Crew members have been briefed as to which lavatory smoke detection system(s) is/are inoperative, and c) In-flight service waste bags are not stored in the lavatory. NOTE: These provisos are not intended to prohibit lavatory use or inspections by crew members.
26-16-02 — Cargo Configuration Applicable to: C-FTUZ

(O) OPERATIONS PROCEDURES — texte MEL :

26-16-01A: Passenger Configuration Make sure that the associated lavatory is kept locked and is not entered except for use or inspection by crew members. 26-16-01B Non-Passenger Operations and 26-16-02: Cargo Configuration Crew members to be briefed prior to departure as to which lavatory smoke detection system(s) is inoperative. In-flight service waste bags are not to be stored in the lavatory.

(M#) MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES — personnel maintenance obligatoire — texte MEL :

26-16-01: Passenger Configurations For an inoperative lavatory smoke detection system: 1. Empty the waste receptacles. 2. If necessary, deactivate the inoperative smoke detector. a. Open appropriate LAVATORY SMOKE circuit breaker and lock with a DO NOT CLOSE tag. b. Remove the inoperative smoke detector. c. Disconnect, cap and stow the electrical connector from the detector. d. Reinstall smoke detector. e. Close appropriate LAVATORY SMOKE circuit breaker. 3. Lock the lavatory door. 26-16-03: Lavatory Smoke Detector SELF TEST Switch For the associated smoke detector, do the lavatory smoke detection system test (AMM 26-14- 00/501). 26-16-04 Lavatory Smoke Detector TEST Switch on Flight Attendant’s Panel For each smoke detector, do the lavatory smoke detection system test (AMM 26-14-00/501).
