May be inoperative provided: a) Cabin altitude indicator operates normally, and b) A chart is provided to crew to convert cabin altitude to differential pressure.

(M)(O) May be inoperative provided: a) Flight is conducted in an unpressurized configuration, b) Procedures are established and used to ensure lower forward cargo compartment remains empty or is verified to contain only empty cargo handling equipment, ballast (ballast may be loaded in ULDs), and/or Fly Away Kits (Engine Covers, Tool Kit and Strap Kit). c) Outflow valve is positioned to 25% open position, and d) Recirculation fan(s) operates normally except for -800BCF airplane. NOTE: For ballast purposes, use of bags (made of glass fibre or kevlar) of sand or ingots of non-magnetic (such as lead) is acceptable.
