Procédure équipage — (O) / (M) / placard

1. Confirmer l’item, la catégorie et le nombre requis dans le MEL officiel (lien PDF).

2. Appliquer les procédures (O) et/ou (M) du MEL avant dispatch — texte officiel ci-dessous.

3. Placard (texte MEL) :

Apply sticker adjacent to associated Pack Selector Switch(es).

4. Journey log / other instructions (texte MEL) :

Print the following information in the journey log sheet. 21-01-08A: One Pack Inoperative (L) or (R) PACK INOP. LIMIT ALTITUDE TO FL 250. 21-01-08B: Both Air Conditioning Packs Inoperative BOTH PACKS INOP. LIMIT ALTITUDE TO 10,000 FT. 21-01-09A: Right Pack Inoperative OR 21-01-09B: Left Pack Inoperative (L) or (R) PACK INOP. LIMIT ALTITUDE TO FL 250

5. Respecter toutes les restrictions du MEL — ne pas en inventer.

(O) OPERATIONS PROCEDURES — texte MEL :

21-01-08A: One Pack Inoperative 1. When dispatching with one operating pack supplied by engine bleed air on takeoff: a) Determine V1 (MCG) based on engine bleed for packs OFF. b) Determine takeoff performance based on packs AUTO. 2. Limit altitude to FL 250. 3. Position the associated PACK switch to OFF. 4. Position the ISOLATION VALVE switch to CLOSE after starting engines. 5. If desired, for increased air flow when the flaps are extended (takeoff and landing), use the APU to supply bleed air to the operating pack. a) Right Pack Inoperative: i) Do the Supplementary Procedure - Air Systems “No Engine Bleed Takeoff and Landing” (Refer to the Flight Crew Operations Manual). NOTE: Keep the pack switch for the right (inoperative) pack in the OFF position and the ISOLATION VALVE switch in the CLOSE position. b) Left pack inoperative – PRIOR to takeoff or landing: i) Engine No. 1 BLEED air switch to OFF ii) R PACK switch to AUTO iii) L PACK switch to OFF iv) ISOLATION VALVE switch to OPEN v) Engine No. 2 BLEED air switch to OFF vi) APU BLEED air switch to ON. c) Left pack inoperative - AFTER takeoff or landing: vii) APU BLEED air switch to OFF viii) Engine No. 2 BLEED air switch to ON ix) ISOLATION VALVE switch to CLOSE x) Engine No. 1 BLEED air switch to ON. 21-01-08B: Both Packs Inoperative Main deck cargo compartment must be or verified to contain only empty cargo handling equipment, ballast (ballast may be loaded in ULDs), and/or Fly Away Kits. 1. Limit altitude to 10,000 ft. for crew without oxygen. 2. Flights above 10,000 ft. require flight crew to be on oxygen. 3. Except for ditching, keep the outflow valve in the fully open position. 4. Position the ISOLATION VALVE switch to CLOSE after starting engines. 5. To improve main cargo compartment and crew compartment temperatures: a) If possible, pre-condition the cabin to a low temperature prior to dispatch. A low initial cabin temperature will result in a lower peak temperature. b) Maintain the highest allowable flight altitude c) Minimize cabin heat by pulling the shades down and turning off unnecessary lights. d) Position RECIRC FAN switch to AUTO. NOTE 1: Prolonged operation at TAT below 10 degrees C / 50 degrees F can cause freezing of unheated water systems located in the aft lower lobe (if installed). NOTE 2: Operation at TAT above 32 degrees C / 90 degrees F is not recommended due to the resulting high temperatures in the main cargo compartment and crew cabin. 21-01-09A: Right Pack Inoperative OR 21-01-09B: Left Pack Inoperative 1. 2 BLEED air switch to OFF vi) APU BLEED air switch to ON. c) Left pack inoperative - AFTER takeoff or landing: i) APU BLEED air switch to OFF ii) Engine No. 2 BLEED air switch to ON iii) ISOLATION VALVE switch to CLOSE

(M) MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES — texte MEL (maintenance ; l’équipage vérifie que c’est fait) :

21-01-08B: Both Packs Inoperative Manually position the outflow valve in the full open position. Position the Pressurization Mode selector to MAN. Hold the VALVE toggle switch in the OPEN position until valve position indicator indicates full open.
