14Communicate with F/A.
Ask to check if there is an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) on board.
Warning
It is recommended that a differential pressure of 1 psi be reached before relocating the suspicious device to the least risk bomb location. This reduces the effects of the explosion in the event the device is detonated.
If the crew decides to relocate the bomb, the least risk location is by the aft service door (2R).
15Plan a flaps 15 landing.
16Set VREF 15.
17GROUND PROXIMITY FLAP INHIBIT switch → ON
18After cabin differential pressure of zero is reached:
Pressurization mode selector → MAN
Outflow valve switch → Hold in OPEN until the outflow valve indicates fully open
19Establish the landing configuration early.
The next two actions intend to establish an in trim configuration which would avoid handling problems and allow a successful landing should an inflight explosion damage vital airplane systems.
Due consideration shall be given to the time/fuel/range situation.
In a clearly defined situation or if the explosive device has been secured at the least risk bomb location, a high cruise speed may be more appropriate to minimize flight time.
20Landing gear → Down (conditions and fuel permitting)
Extend landing gear except for flight over water.
21Flaps → 15 (conditions and fuel permitting)
22Advise ATC of requirements for remote parking, passenger transportation and stairs.
